Lynne
Gilbert is
the
heartbeat of
KristiLyn
Shelties.
Lynne and
husband
Harlee live
in Hemlock,
Michigan.
Located on
the eastern
side of the
stated near
Saginaw.
Lynne has
had shelties
since she
was 9 years
old. She
began
raising and
showing the
breed over
20 years ago
under her
kennel name,
"Harlyn
Shelties".
Lynne met
Kristen in
2002, while
on a mission
to find
the right
tri-color
stud to
compliment
her breeding
program.
The result
was,Can.CH
Harlyn's
Time
Traveler,"Travis".

Both
women
discovered
that they
worked from
the same
ethics and
value system
and had a
strong faith
in God.
They became
more than
friends.....but
are now
family. |

Kristen Fisk
started her
career in
dogs
at the age
of 12
showing
poodles in
4-H.
She became a
professional
groomer at
the age of
18. Over the
last 25
years she
has taught
and shown
dog
obedience
and
confirmation.
Kristen
began
raising and
showing
shelties in
1992.
In 2002
Lynne and
Kristen
combined
forces to
produce
Quality AKC
Shetland
Sheepdogs!
The product
was
KristiLyn
Shelties!! |

In 2004
Kristen was
diagnosed
with
Multiple
Sclerosis.
Due to
health
issues she
is no longer
breeding or
raising the
shelties.
Yet is still
part of the
consulting
process in
the planned
breedings at
KristiLyn.
Most of her
time is
spent
drawing and
painting
pet
portraits.

The breeding
program at
KristiLyn is
small. We
choose to
keep 3 to 4
shelties of
show/breeding
quality.
We have 1 to
2 litters
per
year...usually
in the
spring and
summer
months.
We are
constantly
adding new
dogs into
our lines to
keep from
limiting the
genetic
pool.
We usually
use our
girls for a
few litters
then
place them
into homes
and grow out
the new
imptoved
generation
to take over
the whelping
duties.
We believe that it is not fair to our brood bitches
for them to
have to
serve their
lives
strictly
producing
puppies.
They deserve
forever
homes at
fairly early
ages.
(Usually
between 4
and 6 yrs)
We do
believe it
is important
for the
longevity of
our breed,
that
necessary
genetic
testing is
done when
possible.
As
responsible
breeders we
sell most
puppies on
spay/neuter
contracts. |
